Ryan Reynolds to Star as Green Lantern and Deadpool

Ryan Reynolds is quickly becoming Hollywood’s comic book hero, go-to guy. The Canadian star has worked his way up to the A-list. He will star in the much anticipated Warner Bros. release, Green Lantern, which will hit theaters in June.It has also been rumored that Reynolds with reprise his role of Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, in a future release by 20th Century Fox. The character made its debut in 2009′s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. If Marvel comics Deadpool ever sees the light of day, Tim Miller will direct the film. Miller who’s known for his strong visual effects, is the creator and owner of Blur Studios.Reynolds the youngest of four, grew up in Vancouver British Columbia. While he began his career on Nickelodeon’s ‘Fifteen’, it was his role in National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, that really jump started it.Reynolds has garnered most of his success for comedic roles in films like ‘The Proposal’, starring Sandra Bullock; but it’s his body that has earned his sex symbol status. In 2010 Reynolds was named the Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine. The 6’2 actor is said to have packed on 25 pounds of muscle for Blade Trinity, back in 2004, and has maintained his muscular physique every since.At the 2011 Wondercon event, Reynolds was inevitably questioned about the possibility of a Deadpool solo spin-off, which he responded by saying “if a Deadpool movie does end up happening it would be done exactly the right way with a ‘hard R’ rating.”As if Reynolds hasn’t gotten enough comic book airtime, Bluewater Productions has announced that he will get his own comic book, titled ‘Fame: Ryan Reynolds.’ The biographic comic which will chronicle his life and career, will be released in May 2011.We’ve certainly not seen the last of Ryan Reynolds, he is currently working on a film starring opposite Denzel Washington, and may possibly star in another comic adaptation R.I.P.D. as well.
