Global movie star Julie Roberts is known for playing roles that emphasize her status as America’s Sweetheart. However, Roberts is now taking on a role that is markedly different from her past work.
Roberts has taken on the part of the Wicked Queen in a live-action version of the story of “Snow White.” The film is called “Mirror Mirror” and also stars Lily Collins, Armie Hammer and Nathan Lane. This highly stylized film is directed by Tarsem Singh, the creator of visually appealing films “The Cell” and “The Fall.”

Acting great Leonardo DiCaprio stars as J. Edgar Hoover in “J. Edgar”, a biographical drama written by Dustin Lance Black and directed by the great Clint Eastwod.
J. Edgar Hoover was the controversial founding father of the Fereral Beauaru of Investigations (FBI) of the United States. The feature film Animated Toy Story 3 is an awesome example of creativity at work. And not only is the story line incredible, entertaining, and engaging it is made for the family. How wonderful it is to see a film produced that every family member from mutigenerations can literally watch and enjoy together. The familiar music, the amazing graphics and the high tech features make Toy Story three a perfect candidate to win Best Picture at the Oscars. Two-time Academy Award winner Meryl Streep is currently filming “The Iron Lady,” a biopic in which she plays the former British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher. Phyllida Lloyd, the film’s director, is reteaming up with Streep whom she directed in the musical “Mamma Mia!”
Thatcher, who is currently 85 years old, will see Streep, 61, play her as the Prime Minister during the 17 days leading up to the Falkland War. Any list of the best movies, most attended movies, or highest grossing movies over the last few years is sure to include at least a few animated films. For decades, Disney has consistently brought quality animation to the big screen, giving parents a movie they can take their children to see. But recently, there seems to have been a shift in the nature of animated movies. While, these were once films made primarily for young children, animated movies today attract all audiences. There seem to be a number of plausible explanations for this paradigm shift. The advancements in graphic art and animation techniques are very appealing to film makers, allowing them to experiment with a range of new art forms. The young, porcelain-skinned Carey Mulligan is starting to turn heads in Hollywood. Starring in the 2009 hit, An Education, the young British actress delivered a stellar performance in the coming-of-age film, based on the memoir of Lynn Barber. Mulligan plays the role of Jenny Mellor, a teenager girl who falls in love with an older man. His luxurious lifestyle and trip to Paris sweep her off her feet and the two become engaged, much to the dismay of her feminist teachers. A twist in the story take the audience along a journey of love, hard lessons learned, and the pain that comes with growing up, all beautifully executed by the talented Mulligan.
